Lists, Lists, and more Lists!

Every day I find something new to resarch about and bide my time. If I don't fill my time with something practical I tend to worry about something going wrong or wish my babies weren't so far away. Recently it was a list for my parents of what baby items it would be handy to have at their houses if they want to stock up on baby stuff for when we drop off the twins for the elusive "date night."

Bathing:
Faucet cover
Shampoo/lotion/oil/wash/powder

Below is the registry list I started with until I weeded out what was unecessary and what I could freecycle. I already had two cribs and a changing table. What can I say...it was a good jumping off place and I didn't wind up with all the name brands but perfectly good stuff. Though I am still told that the Rock n'Play Deluxe sleepers are the bomb and I have to get two.

I'm sure experienced Mom's won't use half this stuff, but I'm not one. Besides, I got most of it for free already so who cares if I'm going overboard. I don't plan on having more babies and want to adopt an older child after this. At least I'm not buying a $1500 travel system that I can only use for six months. My dream item is the double jogging stroller....because they are pricey. Fortunately WalMart has a reasonably priced one that has decent reviews. I can't believe how much folks charge for baby stuff, especially at specialized baby stores. The variety of baby stuff is ridiculous and they will market anything no matter how useless it truly is, but after been childless for so long I do understand how easy it is getting caught up in all the product research and wanting your baby to have everything. All I know for sure is that if I have a daughter she will get all the toys I never had and wanted, to include the Easy Bake Oven and Barbie Dream House. I was not at all a deprived child, but you always want what you can't have. And I wanted to cook a brownie with a light bulb!

I think the things I would add that are great for twins are the Snuza Baby Monitors (Instead of Angel Care) for folks who have SIDS fears like I do from having seen it a little closer than I wished I had. You can also get stroller clips to make two umbrella strollers into a double. I also am getting Foscam webcams so that I can have a video baby monitor that I view on the interwebs with a secure password no matter where I am.
